Marks and Spencer

Top marks for Marks and Spencer for their amazing AW11 collection. I couldn't believe that the collection was high street and not high end when I first saw it as I've never seen a high street shop get it so right. I have to admit trusty M&S is never on my list of fashion shopping destinations as I've always considered it for the more mature woman, but this collection completely proves me wrong. They have managed to include so many key trends for Autumn/Winter 2011 including masculine, forties, sixties, snakeskin, fur, aquatic, maxi coats, soft silhouettes, fetish, jewel tones... probably best to keep this one a secret!

Amy Winehouse

My sympathies go out to the family and friends of Amy Winehouse, who sadly passed away two days ago on the 23rd July 2011. Although her death sadly may not come as a surprise to some due to her highly destructive lifestyle and terrible addiction, she undoubtly will be remembered, hopefully for her unique sound and style.

Karl Lagerfeld described her as a 'style icon' and 'the dark Bridget Bardot', using her as inspiration for Chanel's Paris-Londres Maison d’Art collection fashion show in 2007, where the models wore beehives and exaggerated eyeliner (below).

Shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey designed the 'Amy' shoe with the singer-songwriter in mind.

Amy also collaborated with Fred Perry last year to create a collection of gingham check, polo shirts and bodycon skirts and dresses.

starry eyed

Recently I've been longing for a sheer, star-print blouse since spotting one in Zara, and after seeing Dolce & Gabbana's dreamy A/W11 collection, my lust for the print has grown. If you feel the look is too bold, then sparkly star earrings and necklaces will ensure you're still tapping into this trend. I'll definitely be adding some twinkle to my wardrobe this winter with the Henry Holland tights and perhaps a starry jumper.

Masato Studio

Last Sunday, I had the amazing opportunity to style (and model in!) a shoot for designer Masato's A/W11 collection. He formed part of the Giles Deacon design team for London Fashion Week A/W11 and currently designs for Ghost, as well as working on his own label. I love Masato's elegant and flattering dresses, use of colour and gorgeous sheepskin jackets: he is definitely one to watch.

I got it from my momma

'It' hopefully being a great sense of style, or the potential to develop a style that is strong and individual. While poring over my family albums, I found so many gorgeous pictures of my mother, adoringly photographed by my father. Gamine, elegant, glamorous: I plan to raid the attic for the cream lace dress and fur coat!

kate moss' wedding dress

Congratulations to Kate Moss and Jamie Hince who tied the knot yesterday. Kate wore a beautiful John Galliano gown, which was understated and elegant, quite simple on first appearance, but on closer inspection it had intricate gold embroidery. It suited Kate's effortless style perfectly. Jamie wore a pale-blue double-breasted Yves Saint Laurent suit which looked gorgeous for this time of year.

my pick of Autumn 2011's campaigns

These are my favourite Autumn 2011 campaign images from those I've seen so far as I feel that they are the most eyecatching and creative.

Bruce Weber for Miu Miu, the relaxed editorial feel is a breath of fresh air

Tim Walker for Mulberry, I love everything by Tim Walker, the details are beautiful!

Juergen Teller for Marc Jacobs, truly individual

Steven Meisel for Louis Vuitton, so classic and gorgeous

Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, I love how quirky this is for the brand

Alvaro Beamud Cortes

I just stumbled across this stunning image from Alvaro Beamud Cortes for vogue.it. Styled by Lorenzo Posocco, I love the elements of drama and romance; model Nathalia Oliveira looks angelic and reminds me of the Greek mythical character Icarus.
